Last night, we put the squad through a serious test of speed, rhythm, and endurance with the 6-5 Flurry Challenge—and it did not disappoint. This drill is all about efficiency, precision, and non-stop movement, pushing your ability to fire off punches without hesitation. See video below and read the breakdown to get a better understanding of the 6-5 Flurry Challenge.
The Breakdown:
1️⃣ Mastering the 6-5 Roll:
• The foundation of the drill starts with a continuous 6-5 flurry, learning to keep the movement smooth and efficient.
2️⃣ Introducing the 6-3 Transition:
• Once the 6-5 roll is locked in, we add the 6-3 sequence, getting comfortable with rolling between the two movements.
3️⃣ Combining the Sequences:
• The 6-3 becomes the transition point after every flurry.
• First, we build it up:
✔ 6-5, 6-3
✔ 6-5, 6-5, 6-3
✔ 6-5, 6-5, 6-5, 6-3 (Triple)
✔ 6-5, 6-5, 6-5, 6-5, 6-3 (Quad)
And then we keep stacking—all the way up to 10 and back down in one setting.
The challenge? Stay locked in, minimize errors, and keep the hands moving.
With limited exposure to this drill, the crew stepped up big and worked through the entire progression. It’s one thing to throw punches, but it’s another to flow through them effortlessly without breakdowns.
Shoutout to everyone who took on the challenge!
We’re just getting started—this drill is going to be a staple in speed training moving forward. Every boxer will want to build up to 10 and back down flawlessly.
The question is: Who’s going to perfect it first?
